In addition to his original 34 exercises that are traditionally practiced on a mat for general toning of your core musculature, Joseph Pilates invented a variety of machines to assist and support the body for rehabilitation after injury. These machines can also provide resistance to strengthen the deep muscles of the core and improve the stability and mobility of the joints.
Once monthly we hold a Shamanic Journey Circle, in which the participants learn to go into a light trance with the steady beat of a drum in order to Journey to the Spirit Realm and find their allies, helpers and guides. They may also be able to communicate with their ancestors. They can ask Spirit questions, receive information, determine if they are on the right path, and clear their energy field.
Feet are the foundation of the body. If they are weak or poorly aligned, the entire body suffers. Yamuna Foot Fitness re-trains the foot how to stand and walk, and the effect unwinds the entire body. This hands-on work can be done seated or standing. Every bone of the foot is gently tugged into alignment, the nerves are stimulated, range of motion is improved, swelling decreases, and the whole body relaxes. This treatment can also be done to release tension or pain in the hands.
Several times per month Claire performs a Sound Bath, in which participants relax in the healing half sleep called Yoga Nidra, while Claire plays a variety of gongs, chimes and sound plates. The vibration of the gongs cleanses the entire energy field and leaves you clear, relaxed and refreshed.
The temporo-mandibular joint is the master joint of the body. When it becomes tight, the jaw clenches and the teeth may snap together when talking. Also, there may be grinding or clenching of the teeth at night while sleeping. The whole body remains tense and on edge. You will learn how to release the deep muscles of mastication, promoting relaxation of the entire body.
This ancient practice from Japan can be done with a gentle touch, or even at a distance. It is pure energy work for healing and relaxation, unwinding the stuck areas in the body, releasing pain and tension, feeling refreshed and renewed afterward.
All the twenty-two forms of yoga have the same goal, which is samadhi. However, Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is the fastest, most efficient to way to bring the body, mind and soul into alignment. It is a science that uses the breath, or pranayama, plus the technology of specific exercises, or Kriyas, to safely raise the Kundalini Energy from the base of the spine. Kundalini Yoga is often called the “Yoga of Awareness”; not only are the Kriyas effective for calming the mind, energizing the body and awakening the senses, they are also excellent for maintaining organ and joint health.
Homes, buildings, and land can absorb and collect energies, leaving an energetic imprint that can be felt and sensed. Claire provides clearing for homes and buildings, land clearing and healing, and also creates special blessing ceremonies for owners of a new homes and new businesses.
