In addition to his original 34 exercises that are traditionally practiced on a mat for general toning of your core musculature, Joseph Pilates invented a variety of machines to assist and support the body for rehabilitation after injury. These machines can also provide resistance to strengthen the deep muscles of the core and improve the stability and mobility of the joints.

Yamuna Table Treatment

This work is designed to be performed on a massage table using specialized balls of various sizes. The ball is placed under a joint as a fulcrum to support it. The bones of the joint are lined up and gentle traction is applied, in order to release the trapped energy in the joint and correct its alignment. It is a full body treatment, creating space in tight areas of the body, relaxing muscles and improving breath, posture and circulation.

Yamuna Foot Fitness

Feet are the foundation of the body. If they are weak or poorly aligned, the entire body suffers. Yamuna Foot Fitness re-trains the foot how to stand and walk, and the effect unwinds the entire body. This hands-on work can be done seated or standing. Every bone of the foot is gently tugged into alignment, the nerves are stimulated, range of motion is improved, swelling decreases, and the whole body relaxes. This treatment can also be done to release tension or pain in the hands.

Yamuna Face Massage

The muscles of the face can become very tense without even realizing it. This tension causes creases in the skin and tightness around the eyes, sinuses, mouth, forehead and jaw. Yamuna Face Massage uses a small ball to gently release the trapped energy in these areas, leaving the face looking more youthful and relaxing the entire body.

TMJ Release

The temporo-mandibular joint is the master joint of the body. When it becomes tight, the jaw clenches and the teeth may snap together when talking. Also, there may be grinding or clenching of the teeth at night while sleeping. The whole body remains tense and on edge. This is a hands-on release of the deep muscles of mastication, promoting relaxation of the entire body.

This ancient practice from Japan can be done with a gentle touch, or even at a distance. It is pure energy work for healing and relaxation, unwinding the stuck areas in the body, releasing pain and tension, feeling refreshed and renewed afterward.

Gong Resonance Therapy

Vibration is a very primal pathway to healing. The body is mostly water, and sound travels easily through water. The vibration of the gongs cleanses the organs, calms the nerves and soothes the bones. Singing bowls or tuning forks can also be placed directly on the organ or bone to be healed. The busy voice in the mind becomes quiet and the body fills with tranquility as you enter the healing half-sleep called Yoga Nidra.

The most profound healing from yoga postures comes when the body finds its optimum alignment. You don’t have to be flexible to find alignment in your own body. Feel the release of trapped energy as the body relaxes into restorative asanas. Flow into the shapes of yoga, and learn how to activate your core, or chi energy, to find a place of ease in the postures.

Kundalini Yoga

All the twenty-two forms of yoga have the same goal, which is samadhi. However, Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is the fastest, most efficient to way to bring the body, mind and soul into alignment. It is a science that uses the breath, or pranayama, plus the technology of specific exercises, or Kriyas, to safely raise the Kundalini Energy from the base of the spine. Kundalini Yoga is often called the “Yoga of Awareness”; not only are the Kriyas effective for calming the mind, energizing the body and awakening the senses, they are also excellent for maintaining organ and joint health.

Infrared Sauna

Start or end your session with the gentle, soothing heat and healing waves of near-, mid-, and far-infrared light. Infrared light is excellent for relaxation, weight loss, detox, and rejuvenated skin. You may also choose to receive hands-on foot-release work while resting in the sauna.
